Industry
Automotive
Tough, heat-resistant plastics for interior, exterior and under-the-hood parts.
Overview
Vehicles use engineering plastics to reduce weight and to make parts that must resist impact, heat and weather. Polycarbonate is commonly used for lighting and transparent parts; UV-stabilised grades are made for outdoor exposure. High-performance polymers such as PPS, PEI and PEEK are used where parts face high temperatures.
